At Domestika we are hiring a VP of Partnerships to develop and drive Domestika’s strategic partnerships efforts to the next level.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, as VP of Partnerships, you will be responsible for identifying and leading a diverse range of partnerships (content, brand, user acquisition…) globally, as well as guiding the work of a global team of in-country partnership managers.

It all started as a small but dynamic showcase of creative professionals, designed to help them connect and learn from each other. Years later, born from this core value, Domestika widened its reach by designing and producing online courses for all those who want to learn and improve professionally with the best teachers. The community has grown to more than 4 million people who are constantly curious and passionate about learning new skills.

The company is based in San Francisco, California. The team is distributed across 10 countries. Domestika has the support of one of the most relevant funds in Silicon Valley (USA).

What does a VP of Partnerships do at Domestika?
• Collaborate with all key teams at Domestika to drive our partnership strategy, identifying the scope, and map the possible landscape of partnership opportunities to help Domestika reach deeper into the creative communities, develop the brand globally, reach more users and provide more value to our members.
• Work with the Chief Commercial Officer to establish a clear framework for identifying which partnership opportunities should be prioritized.
• Lead the development of strategic partnerships to drive brand awareness, support both the creative community, as well as our members, identifying external partners that have the potential to accelerate company growth.
• Identify the right partners, crafting the right partnership structures, and bringing those opportunities to life.
• Be the face of Domestika in dealings with important global partners.
• Manage a diverse team of partnership managers located around the globe, operating as a player-coach, both setting guidelines, coordinating, managing, mentoring, and driving deals to a close.
• Ensure a smooth cross-functional working relationship with Production, Marketing, and Tech teams to ideate and implement new partnerships and to ensure that partnership ideas are practical and can be delivered on time.

Requirements:
• 12+ years of work experience, with at least 5 years of leadership and management experience across strategic partnerships and business development with top global players.
• Native or near-native English speaker. Fluency in Spanish would be a plus.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent, MBA from a top school is a plus.
• Proven track record in a leadership role driving business development or external partnerships, preferably with a renowned fast-growing startup.
• Expertise in closing large deals with significant business impact, as well as demonstrated success of both shaping and operationalizing those partnerships together with a cross-functional team.
• Experience building effective business development teams capable of identifying, pursuing, and closing high-impact partnerships.
• Experience and contacts within the partnerships landscape of digital business, understanding technical requirements, and what needs to happen to implement them across a global footprint.
• Good understanding of how to put together complex partnership structures, as well as experience structuring and negotiating partnership contracts.
• A balance of structure and creativity, and the ability to turn a wide-open landscape into a practical, clear vision and strategy, as well as a structured tactical plan of attack.
• Exceptional communication skills, both in terms of your ability to speak to partners and executives, but also to collaborate with your cross-functional partners.
• An entrepreneurial, owner’s mentality.
• Experience working cross-functionally with other teams (technology, marketing…) to obtain ambitious goals.
• Past experience in e-commerce or a marketplace business is a plus.
