Content Writer

En remoto, Freelance

We are looking for someone to support us writing text, in English, on a project basis. We need someone that can define a clear content strategy and write the text to tell a compelling story about BeBanjo’s offering.

The candidate would be responsible for defining our voice and tone in the video on demand (VOD) and linear TV markets.

You will be working on shaping our new website, white-papers and case studies. We are interested to know how you think about the strategy behind the content: from the initial briefing to the final result.

You have excellent English; writing, grammar, and attention to detail.

You have at least two years of experience working as a content writer in a similar position.

You should be a good communicator. You will be tasked with conducting interviews with clients for case studies and work closely with our marketing team.

You should be able to work with little supervision and know how to get things done.

You are committed and care about the quality of your writings and you should be receptive to feedback.

Experience with web technologies and writing technical documentation would be beneficial.

You can work from anywhere, but you should have enough overlap with business hours in Europe.

At BeBanjo, we strive to make our customers great at putting video online.

We build easy to use, powerful web applications to manage video-on-demand (VOD) services. Our customers are broadcasters, Hollywood Studios, and platform operators across the globe. Our tools are at the heart of the ongoing revolution in the way films, TV series and other media content are produced, distributed and consumed.

We work fully remotely using Slack, GitHub, Zoom and our homemade tools. We have offices in London, Madrid and Los Angeles.

BeBanjo is not a VC-funded startup. We were bootstrapped ten years ago, and we’re proud to have built a growing and sustainable business. We value honest, long-term relationships with our staff, contractors and our customers.

We care about nurturing an environment where our best work can happen. We’re kind to each other, esteem each other and look after each other. We’re open and collaborative, we listen to everyone and aim for consensus when making decisions.

We don’t work with impossible deadlines. We do not micro-manage people. We treat all staff like grown-ups, and we trust each person to work when and from where they wish. We don’t value long working hours. We believe in using our time efficiently and enjoying a good work-life balance.

Freelance contract per project. BeBanjo is a medium-sized company and we do not need a content writer as a staff member at the moment, but we do value long-term relationships.

Work from anywhere with flexible schedules. Find the environment where you’re most productive, and plan your day exactly how you like it.

An inclusive, supportive and stable environment. We focus on results, not long hours so that you can have a life and don’t burn out.

A challenge: to define BeBanjo’s voice in written form.

We made our recruiting process more like it is working at BeBanjo:

Remote: you can do the whole process from your home.
Flexible: you’ll have options and we’ll adapt to your schedules.
Asynchronous: we’ll minimize calls and interviews.
Certain: you’ll know what to expect about each step of the process
Mostly in writing: because we write a lot, but specially for this project.
Still here? Good! Tell us a bit about yourself and your background, why you are interested, what are your expectations, and what you can offer.

We value good writing always, but especially for this position. Include a couple of sample texts or writing projects, a link to your website (if you have it), and tell us about the last book that you enjoyed.

We are accepting applications for this position until the 22nd of May.

We’ll let you know that we received your application but, to give everyone a fair chance to apply, we’ll probably not get back to you again until after the deadline passes.
